Abidjan le 10 septembre 2026 – Cette année, l’Agnia Carnaval ne se contentera pas de faire danser l’Indénié-Djuablin. Du 15 au 17 octobre 2026, la quatrième édition de ce grand rendez-vous régional entend faire de la protection de l’environnement un véritable enjeu de santé publique. Placé sous le thème « Notre environnement, notre santé », l’événement veut convaincre que la lutte contre les maladies commence aussi par des gestes simples en faveur de la salubrité.
C’est le message fort porté par l’Institut national d’hygiène publique (INHP), partenaire officiel de cette édition. Représentant le directeur général de l’institution lors de la conférence de presse de lancement ce mercredi 09 septembre 2026, Konan Yao Lucien, sous-directeur de l’Hygiène publique, a insisté sur le lien direct entre qualité de l’environnement et bien-être des populations.
« La protection de notre environnement constitue un élément essentiel de la préservation de la santé individuelle et collective », a-t-il déclaré, rappelant que les questions d’hygiène, de gestion des déchets, de salubrité et de prévention des maladies sont aujourd’hui au cœur des défis sanitaires.
Pour l’INHP, l’Agnia Carnaval représente une occasion unique de sensibiliser des milliers de personnes aux comportements qui sauvent des vies : maintenir un cadre de vie propre, prévenir les maladies liées à l’insalubrité, promouvoir les bonnes pratiques d’hygiène et encourager chaque citoyen à devenir un acteur de la protection de son environnement.
Mais derrière le message sanitaire on trouve une ambition plus large.
Porté par les ONG Ivoire DEFI et BIOECO-Renaissance, le carnaval veut démontrer que culture, environnement et développement peuvent avancer ensemble. En mobilisant les populations d’Abengourou, Agnibilékrou, Béttié et Niablé, les organisateurs souhaitent transformer cette célébration populaire en une vaste campagne citoyenne où la fête devient également un espace d’éducation, de sensibilisation et de mobilisation collective.
Cette vision s’inscrit pleinement dans les orientations du Plan national de développement (PND) 2026-2030, qui mise sur le développement du capital humain, la valorisation des territoires, l’inclusion sociale et une croissance durable.
Au-delà des défilés, des spectacles et des animations culturelles, l’événement mettra également en exergue les initiatives locales en faveur de la protection de l’environnement, les savoir-faire traditionnels, les produits du terroir, l’artisanat et le tourisme régional.
Les organisateurs ambitionnent ainsi de faire de l’Agnia Carnaval une vitrine de l’économie locale, tout en renforçant la place des jeunes, des femmes, des artisans, des artistes et des entrepreneurs dans le développement de la région.
L’INHP salue d’ailleurs l’engagement des différents partenaires qui contribuent à faire du carnaval un cadre de promotion de la culture, de la cohésion sociale et du développement durable. L’institution réaffirme sa disponibilité à accompagner cette initiative et invite les populations à participer massivement à cette quatrième édition dans un esprit de civisme et de responsabilité.
